How Does Empirica Work?
Every
pallet, box or bundle that passes through our doors is carefully counted and
sorted to determine its content and dimensions. Once this information is
collected it is entered onto the Empirica system, where it is assigned a
potential location. The system also generates a label for each pallet, and once
these are in place the product is put in its location and confirmed as being
placed in storage. After this process has been completed the pallet is visible
to its relevant customer through the online database, and traceable via a number
of factors. These include:
-Storage location
-Batch number
-Product code
-Product quantity
-Handling media number (a
seven-figure number unique to each pallet generated by Empirica)
In addition to this level of
access, customers can choose from a total of eleven different forms of enquiry
and report by which to view and sort their stock. These include:
-Stock flow reports: A handy way to
check movements, adjustments and removals of past and present products
-Stock age reports: A search and
evaluation according to the product’s arrival with us, as well its scheduled
turnaround date.
-Load/Order Dispatch Details: Check
what is awaiting arrival or departure from our sites, as well as previously
dispatched or received goods.
What Else Does Empirica Offer?
The main function of Empirica is to
act as a flexible database for our customers’ stored stock, but its uses don’t
stop there. The system is used by our staff to bring a precise level of accuracy
to stock arrivals, adjustments, dispatches, and destructions. From delivery to
departure we aim to monitor every aspect of the goods we receive, and Empirica
serves that aim well. Using its software we are able to:
-Pick single products from
mixed-stock pallets, without altering their remaining stock records
-Designate stored stock to multiple
locations for destruction or delivery, producing both written and electronic
records of every transaction
-Book exact
quantities and dimensions of stock in for delivery at any time in the next
calendar year
With such varied options offered by the Empirica system, it’s easy to see why we
